Everyone wants to know the magical time to buy a home. Is it like stocks? Buy low, sell high? Is it better to buy in the Spring or Winter?
I totally get it. Purchasing a home can be a great investment, but no one wants buy on the high end only to have the market swing the other way once they’re locked in. You may be seeing your neighbor's home sitting on the market for longer than in the past few years. A home, like stocks, can definitely get you a great return on your investment.
A Chinese proverb states: “The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” - savatree.com. The same could be said for buying a home, especially in Texas.
The Austin Board of Realtors issued a report regarding the market here, and it’s looking good. You see, Texas, and in particular Austin, is not affected in the same way the rest of the country is. Because of the amount and diversification of businesses that are located here, we typically see smaller dips and for shorter times. That’s not a guarantee a bust can’t happen, but based off what’s sold and pending, while our market is beginning to see a mild slowing, it's still growing.
